Urethritis Treatment, Complications and Prevention
Urethritis is a common health problem among females of reproductive age group. It is also not uncommon among men. The symptoms of urethritis may be troublesome and need appropriate treatment.
Treatment of urethritis:
The main aim of treatment is to eliminate infection and also the cause of infection, prevent spread of infection and to relief symptoms as early as possible. The most common cause of urethritis is gonococcal infection, which should be treated with appropriate antibiotics effective against gonococci, such as ceftriaxone, metronidazole, nitrofurantoin, co-tromoxazole etc. If the infection is due to virus appropriate antivirus antibiotics may be required, but antivirus antibiotics are not always useful. If the inflammation of urethra is due to some irritation of injury, the source of irritation/injury should be eliminated.

Treatment And Prevention of Vitamin A Deficiency
Deficiency of vitamin A can lead to serious complications if not treated and prevented for long duration. Untreated prolonged vitamin A deficiency and serious vitamin A deficiency can lead to permanent blindness. For this the deficiency of vitamin A should be treated adequately and prevented, which is very cheap and affordable.
Treatment of Vitamin A Deficiency:
Vitamin A deficiency should be treated urgently as early as possible. Treatment should be very prompt and vigorous. Massive dose of vitamin A should be given, which usually reverses all the eye manifestations of vitamin A deficiency. The massive dose is about 200,000 international units (IU) or 110,000 micro grams (mcg) of retinol orally on two successive days. At this very high dose recovery occurs very fast and sequel of vitamin A deficiency can be avoided.

Treatment of Infected Hair Follicle
Treatment of folliculitis or infected hair follicles depends on the severity of infection (symptoms) and location of the infection. If folliculitis is mild and symptoms are not severe, usually no treatment is required.
Home remedies for folliculitis:
Home remedies are also available for management of folliculitis. Home remedies can be used to alleviate symptoms at home. Home remedies for folliculitis include application of warm compression on the affected area (this facilitates healing and promote drainage of the pus inside blisters), use of tea tree oil over the affected area, act as antiseptic and do not allow the infection spread further. Warm compression can reduce itching (have soothing effect) and pain in the affected area.

Treatment And prognosis Of Addition’s Disease
The main aim of treatment of Addison’s disease is to replace the missing cortisol. Commonly hydrocortisone or prednisone is used at a physiological dose which can mimic the physiological concentrations of cortisol. The treatment for Addison’s disease needs life long therapy. Some patients suffering from Addison’s disease may need replacement for the missing aldosterone in the form of fludrocortisone.
Special caution is required if a person suffering from Addison’s disease become sick, e.g. infection, physical trauma, surgery or become pregnant. During sickness the patient may need increased doses of medication he/she is taking (hydrocortisone, prednisone, prednisolone, or other equivalent). If patient is unable to take medicines orally he/she must be admitted to hospital and given intravenous steroids. Individuals suffering from Addison’s disease should carry documents about the disease they are suffering, so emergency medical personnel can attend their needs.Categories: Disease Treatments Tags: adrenal insufficiency
Treatment of Psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic immune mediated skin disease. It is a fairly common skin disease and affects large number of people. The main pathology in psoriasis is speeding up of the growth cycle of skin cells and as a result skin turn over is increased (i.e. normal skin turn over time of approximately 28 days become less than that) and there is also plaque formation occurs.
There are various treatment options available for treatment of psoriasis. If a disease does not have specific and effective treatment, number of different treatment options is generally available for that particular disease and unfortunately none of the treatment options can cure the disease and none of these generally give high satisfaction. The same is true in case of psoriasis too, as it is a chronic disease without any cure; hence there are several treatment options available. Some of the treatment modalities can be helpful and can improve quality of life.

How Lithotripsy Works In Kidney Stone Treatment?
Extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy (ESWL) is a non invasive procedure (where no incision or sutures are required), for treatment of kidney stones and gall bladder stones. The use of lithotripsy is increasing and it is estimated that in the United States alone more than a million patients are treated every year using lithotripsy.
Lithotriptor is the machine which generates shock wave high-intensity acoustic pulse, which is responsible for breaking of the stones into smaller pieces, which can be easily passed out via urine. More than one sitting is generally required for treating a patient with kidney stone.
Lithotriptor is designed to break the stones minimal collateral damage and used from outside. The patient to be treated with lithotripsy is sedated or anesthetized and allowed to lie down in the apparatus' bed. The back of the patient is supported by a water-filled coupling device placed at the level kidneys. To find the exact location of kidney stones and to aim the high-intensity acoustic pulse, ultrasound imaging or fluoroscopic X-ray imaging is used.
