Last few years many people are starting their own blog, including health blogs, the niche which I am also blogging, you can say blogging has become sort of a style and everyone wants to own a blog, and for that the numbers of blogs are mushrooming. The reason for starting blog may vary, but if you are using internet to find some useful information may it be health information or any other topic, you must be in a dilemma as which blog or website to read regularly or from time to time. In this article I will share some information I learned in the last few years while blogging about health, about which blogs to read.

Before you become a subscriber (e.g. RSS subscriber) of a blog, say health blog (as I am dealing with health blog), you should know how to spot quality health blogs or in other words how to know which health blog is of quality worth reading it regularly. Knowing this will solve your problem and save your precious time.

The first and one of the most important points to consider is the frequency of blogposts written for the blog. My recommendation is that a blog should be updated with new blogposts at least daily (preferably more than once daily) to be of quality. Blogs are meant to be updated daily, which is what differentiate the blogs from other types of websites (although blogs are also websites).

Next important point in regards to quality of a blog is comparing (do it only once or twice for one blog and you need not to compare every time you visit the blog) the information provided in the blog with some authority websites (for same topic) and if you find the same quality you can trust the information to be genuine.

As we are discussing health blogs, you can trust health blogs with HON (Health on the Net Foundation, an NGO dedicated to identify health websites providing only genuine information on health) code pasted in the blog. You can trust a health website/blog blindly if you see the HON code (which ensures quality and genuineness of health information) posted on the blog.

There are also many other points which can help you to decide which blog is of quality and worth spending your precious time, which means reading the blog.
