Try the following techniques to keep back pain away, hopefully forever., Five Ways To Prevent Back Pain Before It Starts

Use correct posture while sitting:

Sit comfortably and make sure that your chair (at office or at home) is designed in such a way that it can support your back properly. While sitting, your chair should support your back in such a way that your back is curved like an S and not like a C. Your chair should not be too much inclined backward or forward, it should be about 90 degree angle. Also, do not sit for hours at a time while working. Make sure to get up from chair and stretch your body and back, frequently (in half to one hour).

Wear shoes with soft soles:

Look for a shoe which has soft sole and use it. You can buy shoes with soft soles, online too. If you wear shoes with hard soles, every time you strike any hard surface such as concrete or black topped road, you’ll jar the bones and muscles in your lower back and slowly this may lead to back pain. Hence, it is important to provide cushion to your feet with soft soles. Avoid wearing high heels too, which, even if they have soft soles can lead to back pain. While at home, make sure to wear soft sandals/footwear.

Learn how to lift objects correctly:

We all know how to lift heavy objects. But have you ever thought how to lift lighter objects and very light objects such as a piece of paper. Have you ever thought that lifting lighter objects in wrong way may lead to back pain? May be not. Well, lean over it, slightly bend one knee, and extend the other leg behind you. Hold onto a chair or table or any stable object (such as pillar or stand) for support. Or you can simply squat and pick up the object. Make sure not to bend for lifting an object, even a paper.

Downsize your pillows:

If you are using more than one pillow for sleeping, it is time you downsize your pillow and stick to one pillow of correct height only. Sleeping with more pillows can strain your neck muscles and cause back pain as well as neck pain.

Do not smoke:

If you are a smoker, there is one more reason to quit smoking, i.e. to prevent back pain. If you do not smoke, do not start it. Several studies have shown that smokers have higher risk of back pain in compare to non-smokers. So, quit smoking and NOW.

The above mentioned five ways to prevent back pain can be helpful in keeping back pain away, but one has to adopt all five together for keeping away back pain. Using only one or two ways may not be helpful.
