There are various home remedies available for prompt symptomatic relief of asthma.

Mustard oil for asthma:

If anyone is suffering from acute attacks of asthma, heat some mustard oil and massage it on chest and upper back several times a day, to get relief from breathing problems due to asthma. You can add a little camphor oil to mustard oil for better result. This will help in breathing by clearing airway passage.

Ginger for asthma:

Ginger has various uses in many ailments including asthma. Ginger is helpful in controlling inflammation (asthma is an inflammatory disease), thereby it prevent airway constriction. Ginger can be used in various ways for asthma. Mix equal amount of ginger paste with honey and take one tablespoon of it three to four times a day or take one tablespoonful of plain ginger paste with half cup of warm water at bed time of when required. Alternatively you can eat raw ginger with salt.

Honey for asthma:

One of the natural remedies for symptomatic relief is honey. Add one teaspoonful of honey in a glass of warm water and drink three to four times a day. At bedtime take a teaspoonful of honey with some cinnamon powder for symptomatic relief and for sleeping better.

Eucalyptus oil for asthma:

Pure eucalyptus oil is helpful in asthma. Put few drops of eucalyptus oil in boiling water and inhale the vapor. Inhale with deep breath. Before sleeping put few drops of eucalyptus oil in a towel and keep it near your bed for inhaling the aroma, which will help you sleep better.

Garlic for asthma:

Garlic is helpful in removing respiratory congestion is people with asthma. Boil a cup of milk with 10-15 cloves of garlic and drink it once daily. Alternatively, you can add 5-6 cloves of garlic in your black tea (without milk) and drink it. You can drink garlic tea cold.
