How to Remain Healthy – Some Easy Diet and Fitness Tips

Maybe your physician told you to shed weight

Maybe you’re sick

Maybe you’ve just had delivered your first kid and realized you should remain physically and mentally active to rear your baby

Maybe one fine morning when you looked in the mirror, come to the realization that you should take care of yourself

Irrespective of the reason, it’s always required that you start eating better and maintain a healthy weight. But if you don’t have any solid idea of what you should do, here are some good diet and health tips following which could help you meet your fitness goals and make life a bit easier.

  • Make H2O your friend – Whether you’re heading toward a boot camp, yoga class, spin class or any other exercise, make sure you hydrate yourself properly so you can remain active and energized throughout the session. However, if you’re exercising for more than an hour, feel free to consume electrolyte-loaded athletic drinks that would give you a replenishment boost, owing to their calorie content.
  • Relieve achy muscles – After a hectic session of exhausting exercise, you’re likely to feel tight calves or sore thighs- that are common. It’ll be good to relieve post-exercise aches by submerging the body in cold bath (50 to 55 degree F) for 12 to 15 minutes – you can add some ice cubes to the water to make it cold enough. It helps reducing the soreness after a vigorous training session.
  • Curb those sweet teeth – Got a late-night craving for sugar snacking? Control it. But if you can’t, think ‘fruit first’ because this won’t push you over the calorie edge. Avoid the chocolate cake siren – instead take a sliced apple with a tablespoon of peanut butter or almond butter. Now sleep sweet; you’re perfectly on the healthy track.
  • Police your plate – Is the steak taking up more than half of the plate? Simply cut your portion of beef serving in half. Rather fill half of the plate with a veggies and fresh fruit instead of calorific platter such as cheesy potatoes or slathered ribs.
  • Combat your cocktail hour – Are you going for a ladies’ night? If it’s likely for you to be imbibing more than just one drink, make sure you order water between cocktails. This way you can check the sneaky liquid calories. But don’t just be ho-hum with water consumption. Make it a bit festive – order some sparkling variety with ample fruits like a lemon and orange wedge in a highball or martini glass.
  • Be a weekend combatant – Weekend is the time when we indulge our eating temptations. No, I won’t suggest you to refrain yourself from enjoying weekend parties and take in all those mouth-watering culinary dishes – be with them. But just make sure you boost the activity level during the week – for example, try taking an additional 15-minute of brisk walking around your office each day to make yourself ready for the weekend storm.

These are just a few recommendations. You can go online and read the slim fast diet details – I’m sure you’ll find same type of recommendations over there. Now it’s up to you how you’ll determine the level of commitment you’re comfortable with and then make adjustments accordingly.

These are all great tips! I just bought myself a gym membership and now I need to improve my diet to go along with it. I’ve been really struggling with my sweet tooth. Eating fruit is a great idea because it’s still sweet; I’ll have to try it! Thanks for the great tips!
