Know about Anti-Stretch Mark Creams

Stretch marks on the skin occur, when there is excessive stretching on the skin for prolonged period of time, (such as due to pregnancy, skin over abdomen becomes stretched for several months or in case of obesity there may be stretch marks anywhere in the body where there is excess deposition of fat in the subcutaneous tissues i.e. tissues just below the skin or dermis).

There are many cream based preparations available in the market with tall claims of removing stretch marks completely. But the fact is, no cream can remove stretch marks completely. Most of the anti-stretch mark creams can remove stretch marks significantly, but not completely. But unfortunately most anti-stretch mark cream manufacturers’ claim that their product can remove stretch marks completely, which is in truth very far from it. Practically skin tags can occur in any part of the body where skin is present, although some areas of the body can have skin tags more commonly than other areas, for example armpits and the neck are the most common sites of skin tags (or in other words skin tags are most commonly seen in neck and armpits). There are also other areas where skin tags occur frequently, although less frequent than armpits and the neck, such as eyelids, buttock folds, groin folds, under the breasts in women etc.

Older children commonly develop skin tags in underarm area due to repetitive friction and irritation from sports. Know about Skin Tags

Skin tags are harmless growth in any part of the body where skin is present. Skin tags are called Cutaneous Papilloma or Acrochordons in medical term and commonly seen in adults, including healthy adults. Presence of skin tags does not cause any health problem, but if skin tags are present over some parts of the body, such as face or other exposed area, it may cause cosmetic problem. As skin tags are harmless the main reason of treatment or skin tag removal is for cosmetic purpose. If skin tags are present in an area, which is generally kept covered with cloths, treatment may not be required.

Skin tags are actually growth in the skin, which appear as projection or hanging from skin. The color of the skin tags or skin projections is usually flesh color or the same color as that of the skin. Although skin tags are called Cutaneous Papilloma, they are harmless and benign and even if left untreated they do not turn malignant or cause harm to health. Removal of skin tags is purely cosmetic purpose as it does no harm.
