One can find various courses for online study and get degrees which are recognized. It is also possible to upgrade your knowledge as well as your graduation degree to masters and go to next level of study.

By studying online you can advance your knowledge and take your carrier forward. For example if you are a RN (registered nurse) you can study online and become a BSN (Bachelor of Science in nursing) or MSN (masters of Science in nursing). If you want to take your carrier forward study online and carry yourself forward from rn to msn. Nursing is part and parcel of medical science and health care. As medical science is advancing, doctors and nurses face new technology everyday and need to keep themselves updated with latest knowledge in their respective fields. By keeping yourself updated with your field, you increase your value to your employer.

MSG is naturally occurring amino acid which is non-essential. It is sodium salt of glutamic acid. USFDA (United States Food and Drug Administration) classify monosodium glutamate as “generally recognized as safe” or GRAS, but requires labeling when MSG is used in food products, i.e. it must be listed in the label of ingredients.

Monosodium glutamate at right amount can enhance the taste of various food items. MSG can significantly improve flavor and taste of various food items such as fish, meat, marinades, soups, various vegetables (e.g. pulses, lentils), sauces etc. If MSG is not used at right amount (lesser amount can not bring out the right taste and excess amount is unpleasant) it may spoil the overall taste. The right amount of MSG varies in different food preparations.

Common home remedies for common cold include drinking plenty of liquid, adequate rest, keep your room warm and humid, saline nasal drops, take chicken soup, slat water gargle etc.

Drink plenty of liquid:

Liquid in any form (water, juice, lemon juice etc.) should be taken in plenty to keep body hydrated. Fluid may be lost due to fever and excess mucus production in cold. Lack of fluid also makes mucus thicker and makes it difficult to remove. Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they may cause dehydration and aggravate symptoms.

This should make the matter clear in regards to treatment of common cold. Currently there is no medication which can cure common cold. The approach to management of common cold is symptomatic. Common cold is caused mainly by viruses and there is no effective antivirus antibiotic available at present against common cold causing viruses. The treatment/management of common cold is therefore essentially symptomatic such as gargling with warm salt water, drinking plenty of water/liquid (to maintain hydration), adequate rest and other symptomatic measures depending on symptoms.

Treatment/management of common cold can be symptomatic (which include use of pain relievers, nasal decongestants and use of cough medications), use of antibiotics and CAM (complimentary and alternative medicine).

Of all the viruses rhinovirus is the most common virus that cause common cold, which is also highly contagious (can spread from one infected person to another non infected person easily).

How common cold spread?

The mode of entry of common cold virus is usually by respiratory tract. When an infected person sneezes, coughs or talks, droplets containing virus are produced, which if inhaled by non infected person can lead to infection (which may or may not produce symptoms). Common cold virus may also spread by hand to hand contact with an infected person or by fomites (i.e. by sharing objects such as toys, towels, telephone, utensils etc. and by touching door handle which has been touched by an infected person). Due to the mode of spread, common cold tends to infect family members and inmates of school.

Peptic ulcer (ulcer in the stomach and duodenum) is a common health problem. One of the most common causes of peptic ulcer is infection of H. pylori in the gastrointestinal tract (mainly stomach). Other important causative factors for peptic ulcer are acid (high gastric hydrochloric acid production), stress, certain medications (such as NSAIDs e.g. ibuprofen, diclofenac etc.), disbalance between protective factors and aggressive factors active in the stomach and duodenum.

If you are suffering from peptic ulcer or gastritis, your doctor will try to find out the cause of your peptic ulcer or gastritis and for finding out the cause, your doctor will ask for urea breath test, which is used to detect H. pylori infection in the stomach.

Many of you might be thinking whether to buy generic drugs or not. If you are short of cash and not able to make your mind about taking generic drugs, it is important for you to know what is generic drug to expel all your doubts. Generic drugs are the drugs for which the patent has expired and any pharmaceutical company can manufacture it without a license from its original patent holder company and as a result these drugs are cheaper. But the chemical composition, as well as other phramocokinetic and pharmacodynamics properties (i.e. side effects and effectiveness) is similar to branded drug. So there is no reason to think that generic drugs are less potent than branded drugs and you can use them safely.

Because the gender based health insurance industry and due to the gender, women are greater sufferers. They used to pay more and get less in return. But with implementation of new healthcare reform and “Affordable Care Act”, hopefully the biased against women in health care will be removed.

In a study it was seen that as many as half of women delay seeking medical advise because they could not afford it, in compare less than 40% men (approximately 39%). Due to women suffering, their children also suffer. Before implementation of Affordable Care Act, women are being charged higher health insurance premiums in compare their male counterparts. Even pregnancy was treated as preexisting medical condition and frequently denied or charged higher health insurance premiums for that.
