Benefits of Coconut Water During Pregnancy

Coconut water has so many beneficial effects (health benefits, benefits for hair and skin etc.) and it is no wonder that coconut water is extremely beneficial for mother and fetus during pregnancy. If you are pregnant, take advantage of various benefits of coconut water and consume it regularly.

Coconut water fights infection:

Coconut water is immune booster (for mother as well as for the baby) and fights infection. During pregnancy a woman may be exposed to various infections, take coconut water and fight infection well. Anti-infective properties (anti-fungal and antibacterial) help fight infection during pregnancy.

For growing fetus:

Coconut water can increase amount of amniotic fluid during pregnancy and improve health of the growing fetus.

Coconut water fights acidity:

Acidity is common problem during pregnancy. Because of the growing fetus and growing uterus, stomach and the diaphragm is pushed upward, which makes acid regurgitation to esophagus (GERD or gastro-esophageal reflux disease) a common problem. During pregnancy, it is best to avoid medications and natural coconut water is ideal choice for problems like acidity during pregnancy, which do not harm the baby in any way, but provide various essential nutrients required for optimal growth and development of the fetus.

Coconut water improves complexion of baby:

Many doctors believe that regular consumption of coconut water improves complexion of the baby. For better result you can mix coconut water with turmeric and/or saffron.

Coconut water is rich in various nutrients such as vitamins (vitamins A, C, E, K and B-complex vitamins such as folic acid, riboflavin, thiamin, pyridoxine, niacin, pantothenic acid etc.), minerals (calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, zinc), phytonutrients (beta-carotene, auxin, leukoanthocyanin etc. and various other antioxidants), various electrolytes such as potassium (coconut water is excellent source of potassium) and sodium etc.

Coconut water is also good source of carbohydrates, fiber, protein. coconut water do not contain any cholesterol and it contains very little fat.

Coconut water is rich in so many nutrients, that it makes ideal for consumption during pregnancy. Make it a habit of consuming a glass of coconut water (or a green coconut, full of water) daily not only during pregnancy, but during normal times of health and stay healthy.

    I don’t know. I think everything happens for a reason. But I can’t imagine me believing in a big man in the sky anytime soon. More just about how people are connected and how positive (or negative, if we choose) flows between us or something. I’m thinking more of a physics solution than a religious one.
